A well-known Los Angeles artist will be showing his work and giving a presentation on his process this Friday.
Don Suggs’ work is described as a “cross-medium expression through painting, photo and printâ€, says Emma Saperstein, the gallery coordinator.
Saperstein says that his work is a comment on human relationship to landscape and nature.
The artwork covers a large span of time with some works ranging from 1986 to 2016 which offers Suggs’ perspective on the evolution of landscape.
Saperstein highlighted that the event is a great opportunity to get students involved and peak their interest in the language of art.
“The department would love for students to take more classesâ€, says Saperstein on the art program here at Cuesta.
There are work study and volunteer opportunities through the gallery that can get students as involved as possible.
The event will be held at 4pm in Room 7170 located in the Fine Arts and Music building. The Harold J. Miossi Gallery will feature a new artist every month for the continuing school year.
