Many college students live paycheck to paycheck, but thankfully there is a way to avoid eating ramen noodles every night and still save a couple of bucks.
With the Cuesta student ID, available for just $10 from the Associated Students of Cuesta College, you can save money all around town.
Dining
One of the hardest parts about being a broke college student is not being able to enjoy a meal out. Thankfully, there are several restaurants in San Luis Obispo that help out students.
If you’re craving pizza, try out Woodstock’s Pizza at 1000 Higuera Street, where they offer 20% off any extra large one topping pie. Being a popular place with many patrons, there are countless tables to make sure you get a chance to socialize. Pizza La Nova at 1348 Madonna Road, offers a large pizza with two toppings for only $9.99. An added bonus is that they deliver, so you won’t have to worry about leaving the house in your pajamas.
“I like coming to Woodstock’s because it’s an easy way to get a lot of food for little money,†said sociology major and third year Cuesta student, Shelby Kerstetter. “It’s a guarantee you won’t leave hungry.â€
Save money on seafood at Splash Cafe’s two San Luis Obispo locations, as well as Pismo Beach. Known for their award-winning clam chowder that they serve more than 20,000 gallons of a year, they also specialize in many other fresh seafood options. Cuesta Cougars receive 10% off of any meal purchased with your student ID.
Taj Palace on 795 E. Foothill Blvd gives a student discount of 10% on their generous portions of Indian cuisine. With a menu full of vegetarian and vegan choices, this is a great place to go to feed a variety of different taste buds.
Beauty and Personal Care
If you’re stressed from too much studying, you can head down to Fresher Nails and Day Spa, on 799 Foothill Blvd where you’ll receive $2 off your choice of services.
Planet Beach Contempo Spa, located on 787 E. Foothill Blvd, saves you five dollars off their original membership price, bringing it down to $29.99 for Cuesta students. With their great reviews, you’ll be sure to leave with a weight off your shoulders.
If you’re looking for a fresh new fade to spice up the weekend, Sport Clips Haircuts located on 481 Madonna Rd, does a two dollar discount with a student ID. This barber shop is unique in it’s own way, by allowing you to kick your feet up and watch a game on one of their many TV’s. With professional stylists, you’ll get the cut you want.
Car Trouble?
As a student, it can be difficult to get from place to place without a form of transportation. For those of you who have a car, these discounts could save you hundreds.
Villa Auto located on 34 South Street has a student discount of ten percent off on parts and labor up to $50.
Napa Auto Parts, located at 380 Marsh Street, offers a similar discount ranging from 10 to 15 percent depending on parts and labor.

If you want to take that special someone on a date but are trying not to break the bank, Downtown Centre Cinema can help. Located at 888 Marsh Street, they offer a student discount on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays at only $8.50 a ticket (with some restrictions).
“This movie theater is cool because the new seats recline and are really comfy,†said communication major and second year student, Austin Dones.
Fairways at Dairy Creek is a perfect place to spend a sunny day out on the links. They offer a student price of $18 for a round of golf, saving a whopping $22 dollars for a day out on the greens. You can’t beat that!
