Cuesta College’s plant sale officially wrapped up its ninth year on April 13, offering plants grown by students on Cuesta’s North County campus’s Agriculture and Plant Science program.
Spearheaded by Jennifer Schriber, an instructor for Cuesta’s plant propagation course, the sale took place on the San Luis Obispo campus from 12:30 to 3 p.m. and welcomed many customers. Some came to pick up their plant pre-orders, while others visited to explore the plant selection offered for direct purchase.
Though matching customers with their orders kept Schriber and her student volunteers busy, she was glad to see so many show up to support the sale and the plant science program. Schriber reflected on the unique opportunity Cuesta provides by offering a plant propagation course, which gives students direct, hands-on agricultural experience and creates community enrichment through the plant sale.
