After seven weeks of classes, Cuesta College students can look forward to another Midterm Study Jam at the Student Success Center in Building 3300 on the San Luis Obispo Cuesta Campus on March 9 and 10 and the North County Campus on March 11 and 12.
“A whole four days of studying should get you going,” said Mason Cleek, supervisor of the Student Success Center in SLO. The Study Jam has been a successful event since its modern inception in 2022, when the Student Success Center sought to promote its tutoring services, hire new tutors and help students prepare for midterms.
“We were happy just to get students thinking about becoming tutors,“ Cleek said.
Since then, the Study Jam and its sister, the Studython, which takes place before finals week, have become increasingly popular on campus. “We broke the record of having 300 attendees at the last Study Jam in Fall 2025, and then broke that record again at Studython,” Cleek said. “Important for us is that it is not just regulars, but we are consistently getting new students to join.”
