Have you ever wondered what was beyond the green hills that surround Cuesta College? Now students have the opportunity to find out. On May 2 and 3, the Dairy Creek Golf Course will host one of the biggest festivals in San Luis Obispo.
Shabang is an annual local music festival that features a variety of exciting music, food, drinks and art. With entertainment such as a silent disco and trapeze artists, Shabang offers many exciting activities.
From sunup to sundown, you can expect to jump up and down, meet hundreds of new people, and step into a new world of music.
The lineup at Shabang this year features familiar artists like Chris Lake, The Backseat Lovers and Magdalena Bay. Top hits from them should be enough to keep you busy. However, there are even more artists to enjoy, such as Natalie Bergman, Jackie Hollander, DJ Mandy, and a mystery artist yet to be announced.
During their 2025 festival, Shabang had around 12,000 attendees and, as a community, came together to enjoy headlining artists like Jungle DJ, Wallows, Goth Babe and Briston Maroney.
If pricing is something you’re worried about, the festival has decided to lower tickets to be more accessible for students. You can now buy single-day passes for 30% off and weekend passes for 20% off.
This year, there are six different packages to choose from. General admission is available for Saturday or Sunday for $124.16 (including fees) or a weekend pass for $248.46 (including fees). General admission includes entry and access to the festival.
The VIP package is also available on Saturday or Sunday for $214.56 (including fees), or as a weekend pass for $372.76. The VIP package gets entry and access to the festival, in addition to perks such as an elevated viewing area, special access to Funk Safari, private bathrooms and a private bar.
This is your chance to block off the first weekend in May, buy your tickets before they sell out, and experience the Shabang music festival.
