The STEM Club will host its second annual unique fundraiser: throwing cream pies at professors and faculty in the STEM courtyard from 12 to 2:30 p.m on Friday, March 13.
Based on the traditional Pi Day, the fundraiser, which aims to raise money for field trips and STEM mixers, asks people to donate one dollar for one vote, which will go to one of the 14 professors or faculty members who have volunteered to be on the list. “The top five professors will be pied in the face, with either whipped cream or shaving cream, whatever they prefer,” STEM president Leo Deluca said. “If you donate twenty, you can pick a professor on the list who will then be guaranteed to get pied, and you can pie them yourselves.”
The event is open to everyone and will also serve as a social mixer. “We hope to make this a yearly tradition,” Deluca said.
To donate, you can either talk to any STEM club officer, reach out to them on Instagram, or donate to Deluca on Venmo. “Everyone is welcome to join, STEM major or not,” Deluca said. “After all, how often do you get to see a professor get cream pied?”
