Update: This trip has been cancelled.
Cuesta College’s Fine Arts department is organizing a field trip to UCLA’s gallery and surrounding galleries in Los Angeles for Cuesta students on March 13.
The trip includes visits to UCLA’s art department and student galleries, the Hammer Museum and the Fowler Museum. If time does not allow for all stops, students will break into groups depending on their individual priorities.
The field trip is organized by Cuesta faculty member Michelle Craig and Fine Arts Division Assistant Magnolia Stork.
“We have been taking these trips for many years, and as transportation has become more expensive, it’s become harder to plan them,” Stork said. “We were really lucky to get a [Cuesta] Foundation grant. They’re helping offset the cost.”
With transportation mostly sponsored, each participating student is only required to contribute $30. This cost covers transportation and entrance into all museums and exhibits. Food is not included, and while there will be meal breaks, students are encouraged to bring snacks.
The bus will leave Cuesta’s SLO campus on Friday, March 13 at 7:30 a.m. and will return at 8 p.m. the same day.
Any currently enrolled Cuesta student may sign up to join the field trip by visiting the Fine Arts Office in room 7122 on Cuesta’s SLO campus. You can also email Magnolia Stork at [email protected] for more information.
