Cuesta College’s SkillsUSA team prepares to send ten eligible students to the 54th Annual SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skill Conference from June 25-29.
SkillsUSA is an organization of teachers, students, and representatives that work together to promote a skilled workforce in the United States.
These students achieved eligibility by earning gold medals at competition during the 51st Annual Leadership and skill conference. Their placings also qualified the students to advance to nationals.
Some of the skills represented by the ten gold medalists were early childhood education, welding, information technology services, and criminal justice.
“For more than a decade, Cuesta College has had multiple students qualify for the national SkillsUSA competition, and this year we’re once again heading to compete on the national stage.†said John Stokes, Cuesta College’s engineering and technology division chair.
Donations to support students going to nationals can be made by visiting the Cuesta College Foundation page at https://www.cuesta.edu/about/foundation/
